1. intr. To withdraw from the coast or side.
1598Stow Ann., Q. Eliz. an. 1588 (R.) The Spanish nauie for six days space..coasting and discoasting from England to the coast of Fraunce, and from thence to England, and thence to Fraunce agayne.
2. fig. To withdraw, depart: the opposite of coast v. 8, to approach.
