dassievanger S. Afr. (ˈdæsɪvæŋə(r), ‖ ˈdasifaŋər) [Afrikaans, f. prec. + vanger catcher.] Quot. 1867 identifies the bird with the popular name of 1 and the scientific name of 2. 1. The bateleur eagle, Terathopius ecaudatus. Cf. berghaan.
