China is an ancient country which has a long history of about 5,000years.As the capital of China,there are abundant cultural relics inBeijing,which have seen the honour and disgrace of China,such as the ForbiddenCity,the Summer Palace,etc.They all represent people’s intelligence and ourwonderful history.
The other day,I was surfingthe Internet when a photograph caught my eye.It’s about Yuanmingyuan,which isrecognized to be the Garden of all gardens.It was in Beijing that the splendidYuanmingyuan was first built during Qing Dynasty.The first time I saw such afantastic photo,I was deeply impressed with the amazing building.
However,it’s a pity that itwas destroyed during the Second Opium War,which did a lot of damage to ourcountry and made the garden lie in ruins in 1860.Luckily,aimed at letting morepeople appreciate the original sight of the garden which reflects the Chinesecivilization,some successful people have already started to rebuildYuanmingyuan,which is worthwhile.
The reason why I take a fancy to the photo is that it can strengthenpeople’s awareness of protecting cultural relics.It’s of great importance tocarry forward our national treasure.Therefore,we should do what we can to makecontributions to our homeland.I also have strong grounds for believing thatonly by doing so,will we make our culture known to the world.
