crenellate, -elate, v.|ˈkrɛnɛleɪt| [f. F. crénel-er + -ate. The l has been doubled partly after crenelled; partly perh. after assumed L. *crēnella, dim. of crēna.] trans. To furnish with battlements, to embattle; to furnish with embrasures or loopholes.
