cheddite|ˈtʃɛdaɪt| [a. F. cheddite, f. Chedde (in Haute-Savoie): see -ite1.] Any of various high explosives composed essentially of a chlorate, a fatty oil, and one or more nitro-aromatic compounds, e.g. dinitrotoluene.
