[Gr. καρπός fruit], producing flowers and fruit on its stem and branches many years without perishing, as ordinary shrubs and trees. cauloˈrhizous a. [Gr. ῥίζα root], sending forth roots from the stem. ˈcaulosarc = caulobulb. cauloˈtaxis [Gr. τάξις arrangement (after phyllotaxis)], (see quot.).
