[a. OF. camocas (kamoukas in Froissart) ‘silk stuff approaching satin’ (Godef.), or med.L. camoca, camucum, med.Gr. καµουχᾶ; also in Sp. camocan, camucan, acc. to Dozy, ad. Arab. kamkhā or kimkhā, which Devic thinks originally a Chinese word, and ultimately identical with OF. canque.]
