A synthetic analogue of the ergot alkaloids that stimulates the dopaminergic receptors of the brain, inhibiting the release of prolactin, and is used in the treatment of Parkinsonism, galactorrhoea, hypogonadism, and other conditions; 2-brom-α-ergocryptine, C₃₂H₄₀N₅O₅Br .
