Colloquial designation of ‘Bradshaw's Railway Guide’, a time-table of all railway trains running in Great Britain, the earliest form of which was first issued at Manchester in 1839 by George Bradshaw (1801–53), printer and engraver. (Ceased publication in 1961.) Also transf. and fig.
