▪ I. arsine1 Chem. (ˈɑːsaɪn, now usu. ɑːˈsiːn) [f. arsenic) + -ine, here used to form a term analogous to am-ine.] A compound having the structure of ammonia or an amine, with arsenic instead of nitrogen; i.e. arseniuretted hydrogen (AsH3), and any derivative bearing the same relation to it that the amines do to ammonia (NH3); as trimethyl arsine (CH3)3As. Hence arsinic |ɑːˈsɪnɪk|, a., as in dimethylarsinic acid.
