‖ anthypophora Rhet.|ænθɪˈpɒfərə| Also anti-hyp-. [L., a. Gr. ἀνθυποϕορά, f. ἀντ(ί against + ὑποϕορά allegation.] A figure in which an objection is refuted by a contrary inference or allegation.
