Connected with or pertaining to an anomaly.
1. Astr. Pertaining to the anomaly or angular distance of a planet from its perihelion. anomalistic year: the time occupied by the earth (or other planet), in passing from perihelion to perihelion, or from any given value of the angular element called anomaly to the same again, which, owing to the slow eastward motion of the apsidal points of the orbit, is longer than a tropical or sidereal year, containing 365 d. 6 h. 13′ 49·3{pp}. anomalistic month: the time similarly occupied by the moon in passing from perigee to perigee, etc.
