anagrammatize, v.|ænəˈgræmətaɪz| [ad. (? mod.L. anagrammatizā-re ad.) Gr. ἀναγραµµατίζ-ειν to transpose the letters of a word, f. ἀνά back + γράµµα(τ-) letter + -ίζειν (see -ize); cf. Fr. anagrammatise-r.] To transpose so as to form an anagram; to change into another word or phrase by a different arrangement of letters.
