algid, a.|ˈældʒɪd| Also ˈalgide. [a. Fr. algide, ad. L. algid-us cold; f. algē-re to be cold: see -id.] Cold, chill, chilly; especially pertaining to or designating the cold stage of an ague. Spec. in algid cholera, Asian cholera, which is marked by copious watery alvine discharges, etc.
