adjustable, a.|əˈdʒʌstəb(ə)l| [f. adjust + -able.] Capable of being adjusted. adjustable pitch: freq. attrib. (with hyphen), applied to an aeroplane propeller the blade angle of which can be adjusted when the engine is at rest (opp. variable pitch). Also absol., a pitch setting capable of such adjustment.
