Entrepreneurs in Surat and nearby industrial centres have invested more than Rs 3,000 crore in the past three years to modernise looms and machinery by taking loans under the Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme.

"We will try to bring this up at government level and I'm sure SGCCI members will also work on getting this obstacle out of the way," said Al Ghurair, speaking to Gulf News in Surat.

The delegation which was headed by President of SGCCI Dr Ajoy Bhattacharya is on a visit to Dubai upon a special invitation extended by Dubai Chamber to explore new areas of economical cooperation between the 
two Chambers.
